I bought a dell a while back and it doesnt have an agp slot so i cant upgrade the graphics card unless its crappy pci, i was thinking of buying a barebones system and a new agp graphics card and putting all my old components into the barebones system what ya think? the barebones system i have in mind is the T2-P http://uk.asus.com/products/desktop/t2-p/overview.htm# . btw anyone know of a cheaper place to buy this other than overclockers.co.uk?

dman,am i correct in saying that i wont ever get great performance from pci graphics card? im talking about using it for games such as farcry etc

There was a forum on these boards a while back abut farcry minimal playing specs and everyone who had a 9200 said it was perfectly playable. my housemate has a 9200 and said it was fine. i dont know if ther is a difference between the pci and agp version speed wise.

    EDIT> found this http://www.nordichardware.com/reviews/graphiccard/2004/PCIx200/

well u could salvage the dvdrw, hard drive and ram if its at least ddr pc2700
but the celron is a awful cpu for games :(
if you got a socket a bare bones system you could get a athlon xp 2500+ for 80 euro
that would be alot better in games than the celron

    maybe get a nice shuttle?

You really dont want to be using a 9200 for playing games, especially newer ones that will come out..........

Id agree totally with tuxx, the likes of a shuttle with a Socket A and Xp2500+ would sort you out very nicely. Celerons are crippled chips.

Check your memory to see what speed it is. Your hard drive & dvdrw will fit nicely into a new rig. If your big into gaming look along the lines of a 9800pro (9800np , 9700pro, 9700np all good aswell) or minimum 9600pro/xt if you want decent performance.

Jes have a big range of the small pc's .....
