    From rugby.ie
Leinster have confirmed that Declan Kidney has agreed a three-year contract as Director of Rugby with the province after Gwent Dragons released Kidney from his contract with them.

Kidney will take up the position on August 1.

Kidney, who played an integral part in Ireland's rise to the Triple Crown, had a get-out clause in his recently signed contract with the Welsh side.

Leinster Rugby Chief Executive Michael Dawson said that he was delighted to have secured the services of Kidney.

"I am delighted to confirm that Declan has agreed to join Leinster. Declan is an outstanding coach with huge experience of the domestic, club and the international game.

"Having secured the services of all our international players for the coming season, and with the number of quality young players coming through the system, I believe that Declan's expertise will help Leinster move forward.

"Declan will complete his coaching team in the near future."

    That will do ;)

Hmmm, it's a good appointment, but that get-out clause probably cost them a bloody fortune. Pity they hadn't the foresight 2 weeks ago to grab him before he signed -typical of a highly troubled setup at Leinster.

I hope Kidney has more a) luck with injuries and b) support from an improved back room staff, than the unfortunate Mr. Ella had in his time.
