i wonder if i can get one which blurs out violence and porn (pictures watching the resavoir dogs and the screen goes black everytime something violent happens muhahahahaa.

He's delighted because he can still see the gratuitous violence. But I mean we all know violence, bodies ripped apart and so forth, is far less offensive than a word like sht. Clearly. No screwed-up moral system here...

There will always be more cursing in my home via my own mouth. When I have kids, they're constantly going to be getting in trouble for mimicing me.

    My sentiments exactly.

OMG Can that thing actually work? I guess it would have to impose a few seconds delay on the playback of the film or whatever.

I'm thinking of that scene in "Keeping up appearances" when Hyacinth asks the TV guy to install a "bleeper" in her TV :D Ah America, a culture based on jokes.

"Mommy, how do we make babies?"

"Well darling, when a man and a woman <bleep> each other very much..."

Reminds me of the time I got kiddies encyclopaedia from my parents and all the pages on human reproduction including even the development of the embryo in the womb were ripped out.

Luckily we had an adults encyclopaedia in the house and I had loads of questions for my parents like "but how does it know when to get hard?" "Isn't that all dirty that the semen has to pass through the same tube you use to pee?".

It's just a natural progression for America I guess.

WalMart won't stock CD's with offensive graphics or songtitles on the cover. They also demand re-edited 'clean' versions of the actual music itself in some cases.

Blockbuster Video won't rent out videos with an NC17 rating unless it's re-edited as far as I know.

    And the next step:

This kind of thing actually begins to freak me out. I only read of the whole John Titor thing on Monday, and although it's 99.99999999999% likely that he's a complete hoax, some of the short-term predictions are frighteningly accurate, especially in the context of when they were said.
"They were betting that people wanted security instead of freedom and they were wrong."

I can definitely see a massive strain on the American people due to heavy diminished rights in the next few years.

There's a dictatorship on the rise in the US. The government are becoming more and more skilled at manipulating the public, that they have practically absolute power at this stage. In fact, they could have a dictatorship as it stands and never have it officially known to the people.

    ROFL classic!

AFAIK, there is also a dvd player that filters out inappropriate scenes for children. It only has filters for about 90 films pre-programmed though!

the thing would overload * possibly explode with irish made movies no offence to amercians but if a child wants to see pornography etc its readily availible so its a gimic and it probably wouldn't pick up irish swear words

Am I the only one scared by the kids face? The lighting in the picture really lends it a bad tone tbh.

The idea is complete ****ing bollocks of course, and the people who invented/buy it should be publically humiliated and then forced to do something decent with their time (says the unemployed guy who lounges around in his flat 24/7 :D )

well the website says it covers over 400 words...

i just love the moral attack the whole article does:

"and is polluting the hearts and minds of your children?"

Is swearing really that dangerous, will i have a heart attack or become physically ill from swearing?

ixoy i wanted to write that but i couldnt phrase it the way you said it so i cut it. Cheers m8
