your a star is nothing more than a cash cow for RTÉ. they will keep doing it that way until they dont make money from it

is it really spelt "your a star"? RTÉ must have had the temp make up the name...

I think all shows like this should be banned.

We should go back to the good old Song for Ireland.

Or else we should have an internal selection. After all, Ukraine used an internal selcion this year and won it. Turkey used it last year and won, while Belgium and Russia (with t.A.T.u.) were also in the Top 3 and they selected internally.

I was just casting my mind back to the good old days of the Irish Entry from the wesht the likes of "Brum Brum Carr" and the lead up to the song for Europe with the Late Late Show playing all the regional finalists. So I have Come up with a compromise to combine the old with the new the young and the old, the good the bad and the ugly.

Do the Eurosong thing the usual way but in the middle of each of the knock out stages play a regional finalist, then when it's down to the final 2 have a decent "song for europesque" competition. RTÉ get their vote money Mr. Walsh gets his new meat and the people choose a song and/or a singer. And the Helix get's its comissionevery one's a winner.

as long as it's the people voting for the songs we will never have a hope in hell of ever getting a decent song again. They people who vote in these things are the type of people who vote for crappy boy bands and useless singers just 'cause they fancy them, ie. 13 to 17 year olds. Also, as long as the Eurovision final is decided by the public vote Ireland have no chance because there is way too much political voting going on.
