    Heh yeah....


    No idea what svchost.exe does but looking at taskmanager I have 4 of them currently running. Also earlier spoolsv.exe was using 99 on the cpu and 100% overall was being used.

    Visus scans havent picked anything up. Pretty sure its up to date. Just swapped over to AVG free version (6)

    Does this sound dodgy or am I just insane?

    Several instances of svchost are normal.
    Some virus can launch instances of it as well, but if you have AV up to date then you're as safe as can be expected.

    iirc spoolsv is the printer spooling service which basically sends print jobs to the priter... if you don't have a printer you can just stop & disable the service.
