they dont seem to be taking any credit from my account when i connect to the GPRS/wap

was connected for over an hour yesterday (was uber bored) and still had the same amount of credit as i have when i connected

it does take credit for the MMS though

ah well we cant have it all

    Guys,

I have a 6600 and these settings are not working for me!

I am with O2 and have a contract phone.

for some reason i cannot see..

    Connection Security:On
    Session mode: Permanent

..when i am imputing the settings...will this make a difference?

Anybody got some advice...is there a minimum software requirement?

    Cheers,

    Jo

I'd be a bit suspicious of the these settings

    Connection Security:On
    Session mode: Permanent

These are usually associated with a WAP 1.x configuration.

Just looking at mine here, you should have the following headings:
    Connection name
    Data bearer
    Access point name
    User name
    Prompt password
    Password
    Authentication
    Homepage

The proxy IP and port number are then under Options - Advanced settings

    A WAP 1.x phone has (3650):
    Connection name
    Data bearer
    Access point name
    User name
    Prompt password
    Password
    Authentication
    Gateway IP address
    Homepage
    Connection security
    Session Mode

Thanks manchine, i have all those headings but still having no joy...anything else i can check/do?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 97 ✭✭manchine

    Not sure.

When you say you have them all, do you mean all the WAP 1.x headings or allthe WAP 2.0 ones?

Have you tried the WAP 1.x settings, just to check?
    i.e. Gateway IP address = 192.168.90.74 etc....

Think they're all in one of the other stickys.

What software version have you got? (enter : *#0000#*)
    I've got V 4.09.1

Yea manchine i have the Wap 2 settings.

I have being trying the wap v1 settings since last October/November when i got the phone from Hong Kong - never had any joy.

Software version on my phone is - 3.42.1 16-10-03 NHL-10

Think im gonna have to wait till O2 officially release the phone :(

OK just got it working YAHBLEEDINHOOOOO .....

For Bill Pay on O2 use wap.dol.ie as your APN

    i.e.

    Connection name: O2 GPRS
    Data bearer: GPRS
    APN: wap.dol.ie
    User Name: None
    Prompt Password: No
    Password: Leave Blank
    Authentication: Normal
    Homepage: http://www.o2.ie/

    Advanced settings

    Phone IP Address: Automatic
    Primary Name Server : 0.0.0.0
    Second Name Server: 0.0.0.0
    Proxy Server address: 62.40.32.40
    Proxy port Address: 8080

That just leaves the settings for MMS ill post if i get that working (or if anybody knows please post! )....

For MMS try the same settings but with the homepage set to
    http://mmsc.mms.o2.ie:8002
And then select the new "Access Point" for use with MMS under the settings menu in Messaging
