Firewall Recommendation Required

    Hey,

I'm looking for a Firewall recommendation. The firewall we currently have doesn't seem to have very good VPN capabilities and I need to set one up to an office in London. I'm looking for a firewall that is easy to configure and will full VPN capabilities.

Obviously I don't know a hell of a lot about firewalls so any advice on ease of use and configuration would be greatly appreciated.

Another thing that I have noticed is that some firewalls need license units? There would be about 15 computers attached to a hub which in turn would be attached to the Firewall. Does this mean that we would need 15 license units to use the firewall?

    Many thanks!

    Serb

    Checkpoint

These do VPN (site-to-site & remote access, depending on the model)
    Fully stateful.
    they don't do a 15 user though, only 5, 10, 25 and unlimited.
Very easy to set up though.
ease of VPN setup depends on the type of firewall at the other end although they should all work together, it's not as easy as it sounds.

    Thanks Sleipnir.

Any idea of a price range on the SofaWare Safe@Office 200 Series firewalls? I think they would suit my needs although I would be looking at getting 25 users or unlimited licenses. I can't seem to find any online store selling them in Ireland.

I'll take another look around. Thanks again!

    Try:

    IpCop

It's free, and uses an old PC. I have a load of these VPNed about the place.

Setup is easy (follow the wizard type stuff), and remote administration is a doddle.

PS, I have 2 of these in London.
