sky box checks connection automatically

I have a second card so that I receive ch4, ch5 and itv.

When I turn off digibox and put in this card and disconnect the phone line the sky box tells me that the line is disconnected and that i should connect it to have interactive stuff (which makes sense).

My question is: Should I always disconnect the phone line when using this card, can sky get the digibox do a test to see where it is dialing from ??
Does it matter if the line is connected or not when using this card.

never connect your box to an Irish phone line when you have a ftv card in it.

Most people after a week or two don't bother connecting the phone line ( after it's initial 2 call backs to confirm that you are indeed Irish etc )
Without major problems so far that I'm aware of.

This message is a byproduct of the latest software and appears on every box at power on if no line is connected.

You do not need to reboot the box to use the FTV card, simply tune to a "common" channel such as 998, disconnect phoneline, swap cards, allow to initialise and off you go.
