Just wanted to get some clarification on this topic from people that know the exact story.

I've been searching as best as I can, but could not get a definitive answer to:

What is the exact difference between a legitimate FTV card and an "expired UK sub card" ???

I bought an "FTV" card on ebay, and it picks up ITV/C4/C5 and also loads of others that do not get picked up with "no card" such as MTV / Sky One / TCM etcetc.

But this morning, all the 'extra' channels I had are gone, with only ITV/C4/C5 left. booooooo. :(

    Is that normal???

    Oh and according to
B.Try to determine the history of the card ie: FTV( Tel. 08700 500 744, Serial No. 209 5** ***,appears on back) or Expired Subscription(Tel. 08702 40 40 40 appears on back)

My card is a "Expired Subscription" the tel number is 08702 40 40 40

All that happened there was simply that there was still some subscription left on the card.
Thats why you got those channels.
They stopped when your cards remaining UK sub was deactivated.
It's not unusual, but once the signal to stop the sub reaches the card it is then like any other ftv card afaik.

You did not expect all these extra channels to last forever on a card sold as FTV.

    Earthman is spot on

It is a very good sign, the fact that ITV, CH4 & 5 are still available to you, because if it was one of those dodgy cards which people report stolen you would have lost everything as Sky would have cancelled the card completely. This is always the worry when you get an expired subscription card, but you can now be pretty confident that your card will continue to work for these channels for the forseeable future:D
