The screw which holds the strap to the base of my Lp standard has come out and will not stay in when screwed in. I was just wonderin if i can glue the screw in or fill the holeand then screw it in?

Glue and toothpicks into the hole. Before the glue is dry, screw in the screw. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, bring it to a shop or if you're in Dundalk, I can do it for you in 5 minutes.

Plastic screw plugs, fully removable too if you mess it up. Get them in any hardware shop.

  • @Giblet- The plugs that you screw into?

@feylya- If i upgrade the catches to those ones that cant fall off then i wont be able to get the screw out to do so?

Well, if you upgrade the buttons to strap locks, the screw is longer so that half fix your problem straight away. You should be able to unscrew the screw even if there is glue on it. You could also fill the hole with the toothpicks and redrill but that might be a bit over kill.

Had this exact same problem myself.

The *best* method imo is get yourself some liquid metal. Its basically 2 tubes of liquid that when mixed will harden EXTREMELY hard. Its what I used in my guitar.

  • Just fill it with that first and then screw in the screw?

Could i just put filler in the hole, let it harden then rescrew?
