    Maybe a stupid question but why is Channel 4 not readily available on the sky system in Ireland.
    I understand all about the UTV scenario and TV3 but what is the story with Ch4.
    Is it simply a situation regards tv broadcasting rights on satellite ??

    you got it right with your last sentance. Channel 4 dont have rights to broadcast themselves in Ireland via DSAT. only those with fortuitous reception (cable, MMDS)can watch with their knowledge

    nope it's not FTA. whats there at the moment is anyones guess though. probably some testing

    What the guys on the other thread picked up is not the same, its clearly akin to testing, not like the policy decision the BBC made by going FTA last year.
