If you're an old skool 2 speaker & sub fan like me. You cant go wrong with a set of Altec Lansing's. They make my pc sound almost as good as my 500 quid hifi speakers.....

If ya a fan of 5-6 sets of wires everywhere for suround effects - then I havent a clue

Like he says - stereo or surround?

I have a set of creative T5400 5.1 speakers myself, they're great for the price (~€99) but certainly not top of the range.

    Thanks for the replies...

I'd love a surrond setup..but again thinking of price...99Euro sounds good..

I'll be building new soon and will be getting a motherboard with 5.1 dolby...

I dont need the 5.1 surround sound so I bought the 2.1 which more than good enough for me. The sound is crisp and clear. Try the Creative, definitely recommend it.

Great sound from such small speakers and they look really classy

[Alt Gr] is right of the spacebar...[4] is next to [3] :p

    Ctrl+Alt+4 works too.
Can't say much about pc but I got a 5.1 set-up for my xbox and its amazing. Not only is the sound brilliant but if you're being fired on you instinctively turn to the direction the "sound" is coming from. Really atmospheric. You don't need a high watt, expensive set to get the effect. That creative T5400 looks good.

Check out this recently posted thread: What Speaker recommendations required. The speakers I have listed on that thread are also available in PC World for < €200 if you don't like shopping on the interweb

for cheap and cheerful i can vouch for these , i got them for €99 in Clancys in Limerick and they rock, great little decoder box, optical, co-ax and normal phono sockets in. Really good for the price (well i think so :D anyway)

go with Cambridge Soundworks Digital 2.1

Trust me! you won't believe the clarity and power of the little speakers! and plus they are the best looking 2.1 speakers on the market!

    you won't go wrong!
