Where do small IT companies/dotcoms post?

Anyone know where do the smaller IT companies/dotcoms post their job ads? Have worked for these in the past and the athmosphere is really great I think. Or does anyone know a good list of these companies in Dublin - I have searched 'Dublin+software' a few times on Google but the pickings seem slim...

Maybe thaere's a whole new business opertunity for youl!!

I don't know of anywhere really - most of them either advertise on their own sites (which makes them really hard to find), or go through agencies. I don't know what Irish Jobs et al charge, but since there aren't so many companies posting on the job sites (though it's been a while since I looked), I'm guessing it's not econimical.

It might be worth your while trawling through the business sections of the various papers to see who's just got funding & calling them.

From what I've seen, quite a lot of them go through agencies or online sites, but there's a massive amount of them who hire a friend of a friend of friend, etc, without going through any formal advertisement, because they can.

Good idea about the funding thing, that is smart.

I dislike using agencies so much, applying directly has been the only thing that has worked for me in the past. Recruitment consultants don't seem to understand my situation, Masters in History but only interested in working for dotcom/IT companies! I know it is a strange situation but they disregard the years experience I have working for dotcoms in San Francisco during the height of the 'tech revolution/bubble'. Argh, what do they know.

Anyhow, one other thing I just thought of is going to Citywest's and Parkwest's websites, checking their occupant lists, and sending all tech firms my C.V. That will be my job for this afternoon :)

Yeah, I really do hate agencies though. I work contracts, so have to go through it a lot, but I just can't stand the scum bags. What amazes me is the amount of companies that have HR people who just phone agencies whenever they need staff & pay through the nose for the service. Surely it's HR's job to find the staff.

    Anyway, good luck with it.

Have a look at sites like Nixers.com

From what I can see, they charge a small amount to advertise so there is no
such thing as a percentage of the persons annual salary like most recruitment
    agencies..

    Have a look.
