Bannor - Do you have a source for this .. All i can find is there was talks on tuesday between Houllier , Parry and Moores which broke down. There will be an announcement in the next seven to ten days in relation to Houllier's Future

The source is an agent who was lining up transfers for the club. Yesterday he heard that the club was suspending all transfer dealings except for the Cisse deal. This morning he spoke to Houllier and he was told by the man himself.

Its a shame if this offer has been withdrawn, I believe him to have been an investor with the best interests of the club at heart. Unlike thai dude.

Houllier met with Parry and Moores on Monday, to talk about his plans for the team and the transfers for the summer. He left a happy man. Something big happened between Tuesday and Thursday to make Moores and Parry change their mind - nobody seems to know what.

I really think that club have shot themselves in the head here. According to the source of the information, he was 90% certain of Liverpool signing Van Der Vaart before the European Chamionships. That deal is now dead.

TBH one player is not a reason to keep a manager. I believe he has consistently failed to get the most out of his players in a positional sense and from the perspective of developing them. So Van de Vaert would have lost there. If VdV was that keen on the move a change of manager shouldn't change the contact that has already been made, and any agreement on price.

See Cisse deal for refernce cisse

VdV is the best young player in Europe. He was joining Liverpool only because of Houllier being there.

If this is indeed true I would be very disappointed. I am a very very very big fan of VdV.

There's alot going on behind the scenes - by the sounds of it the board are trying to secure transfers before any official announcement is made.

Houllier has been told that he won't be manager, but he doesn't know if there is a role for him at the club.

David 'spineless' Moores has fecked off to Scotland for a few days break.

Parry has taken a trip to Valencia, specultation had been to secure the new manager, but my source in Spain has been told that Benitez has no intention of leaving the club. The only other reason for Parry to go is to secure the transfer of a player (normally himself and Houllier would go and Houllier wanted to bring in Baraja).

It has been enquired of the agent whether VdV will join Liverpool without Houllier being involved at the club.

From this information it would seem that the club have acted without considering the consequences of their actions.

It also begs the question of who is going to be the new manager - spending Houllier's transfer kitty and then handing the squad to a new manager is bizarre. The only one I can think of is that would be happy with that is Dalglish because of his involvement with the club - I don't think that would be a good move however.
