I was thinking with the ammount of people on boards would a horse racing syndicate be a good idea, say we got 200 people to put in 100 beans each. This would get 20,000.
Now i'm no expert but thats enought to buy a horse and look after it for a year? or am i wrong :(

I suppose so it would be close enough. just look at the following.

Lets say you were to buy a moderate horse for about 10,000 euro. This will get you something half decent if you look hard enough anyway.

    Now come the standard fees.

150-250 euro a week training fees
A year that would work out as 10400 euro(@ 200euro per week)

If you get your horse to be trained by some-one on the curragh you have the Curragh fees at 475 euro for six months so per year that is 950 euro.

Also you have to register the horse in training which I think is 500 euro for the year.

Now come all the other extras.

    Race entry Fees
    Vet Bills
Food Supplements(if any eg. vitamin C etc.)
    Farrier Bills

With out these extras you are allready looking at about 22000 euro for 1 year.

So the 20000 isn't far off. even a horse for 6000 and you still have 2000 euro left.
