    Yes, but they are cheating in a way, using projectors to put the image on the cloak. :)

    See this thread

    <edit>
    Actually, this PDF shows how they do it.

    RE-Camoflage Suits.

    The real Deal will come when they have perfected LEP's ie Light emiting Polymers aka OLED's ie Organic light emiting Diodes. Some mobile phones already have these Colour OLED instead of colour TFT screens. The technology is gradually being scaled up. Next target for this technology after its small screen aplications are flatscreen PC monitors and Small Flat screen TV's. Prototypes of these have already toured the electronics shows. Will probably be scaled up again to take on bigscreen LCD's and plasmas. The screens are already thinner than their TFT equivelents because there is no need for expensive, powerhungry and thick backlighting systems. The OLED pixels themselves emit light. They will get a lot thinner as the technology improves and it is anticipated that eventually the OLEDs and their circuitry will be able to be 'printed' on anything.

    -Look forward to projection screens(you know the ones like a roller blind) were you dont actually need a projector!

    -OLED wallpaper! ie Like the ST holodeck or the recovery room in aliens!

    -Phones like those on Earth Final conflict where the video screen rolls out of the phone!

    -and .................Camoflage Suits!!!
    There will be lots of little cameras mounted all over the suit which transmit what they see to the oleds on the otherside of the suit. This was also what was used on the aston martin in the last bond movie to make it invisible. I bet the American DOD are salivating at the prospects and applications for this technology!!

    Is that cloak any use realisticly? You'd have to lug around the stereoscopic cameras and image processors before the cloak would work. And even then, its not great.
