Grouped Aerials/Masthead Amps

    Lads,
Anyone know a good place to get grouped aerials in Cork. and as high a gain as possible mast head amp?

I am living down near Crosshaven. Have line of sight to a SouthCoast TV relay and hence have the 4 UK channels on vertical channels 41, 44, 47, 51. I think.

RTE have a relay mast which for me is at a 90 degree angle from the South Coast and is horizontal. Using 55, 59 and 65.

So that means SouthCoast are on B I think and RTE group C/D.

However, I have the 4 southcoast guys with very good recption but I have never managed to get the RTE ones. Specifically I am in a place called Myrteville if that means anything to anyone. I have a 29dB gain masthead amp. I was trying to go with a wideband diplexer but I was told I need a grouped one. But I have no idea where to get one for starters!

Anyone be able to help me with my set-up?!

You've got your polarisations mixed up :) your correct about the aerial groups. Your South Coast channels would be 39, 43, 46, 51 H

re. the stuff you are looking for
If your local TV dealers do not have them?..

KD Electronics wholesalers in Cork would have them (they are well stocked with TRIAX aerials, diplexers, masthead amplifiers etc, satellite gear, high quality CT100 cable etc). KD Electronics are located at Unit 4, Metro Business Park, Ballycurreen, Cork City. Tel 021-4316066

(If you are trying to find them - Ballycurreen is a left turn off of the main road from the Kinsale roundabout in the city to Cork Airport, keep driving along Ballycurreen road until you see 'MIKO metals' on the left - turn left there for the above mentioned Business Park (KD's is at the back after turning left around a corner)

Another source of aerial gear is Dwyers Electrical, Southside Industrial Estate, Pouladuff, Togher, Cork city.

They have Televes mast head amplifiers + diplexers, 'LP7' VHF band 3 aerials, Emme Esse 'Colour King' and 'contract' UHF aerials etc, but do not have the high gain aerials etc that KD would have .

Ok, Crosshaven is on Vertical, so thats means my own wideband aerial should have the 4 Xs like the literal X I have just typed.

For the southcoast on Horizontal it means my aerial should have the Xs on their sides???

Fecked around last night for 2 hours....I am beginning to just think RTE signal is simply not available...
