Eh I did a quick search to see if anyone one has mentioned this and surprisingly they havent so I thought I would let all my fellow axe-men in on a little secret.

This is an EXCELLENT piece of software that allows you (or your minions) to tab out the song and it will play it back to you through midi( including bends vibrato , the whole works!!)

Its Is a great help as you can instantly tell if the tab is correct, and it is especially great if you dont have the song but just want to learn how to play it as you can listen to the music in the program(be it in midi format)

It also helps a tonne with solos as it is clear if they are correct or not

http://www.powertabs.net/ Great site to leech from the aformentioned minions

    :D

    Enjoy

Guitar Pro does it too. It is a great tool for any beginner soloist. The problem is a shortage of tabs. Which makes sense. Its very time consuming putting effort into doing free tabs. Its cool tho.

Yeah, Power Tab is a great little program, I use it all the time. The tabs are usually pretty accurate and they look great printed too unlike the usual crap you find on the web . There is also a chord dictionary in it which is quite usefull and its free what more can I say.

the thing is with powertabs is on the www.powertabs.net site they have loads of powertabs and the ones are the best are the ones that are the hardest to play ie dream theater... they have a lot of prog and metal bands tabs tabbed out perfectly.

    brilliant for opeth tabs
