savage b**tards should get jail to throw an eight yr old in an adult hurling game of any type.. even if just for a few minutes

said that he must be a fine chap for an eight yr old

I've seen that happen before too but not with an 8-year old. The rules are a bit messed up when it's possible to field an 8-year-old in a Senior match (ok this was u21 but it's possible at senior level too).

The cases I've seen were 14 year-olds put into adult games and then taken off. In saying that though I played senior at 16 as did many others I know. So where do you put the cut-off?

Yeah I started my first senior game when I was 16 (Dublin Intermidate Div 1)
But I was playing U21 and minor from 15
