The only difference between this model and 7000s that i know of is that this model has no room for a harddrive other than that its meant to do the same as the 7000s. And was 100 euros dearer the last time i saw it on this site. So if anyones thinking of buying a new receiver for non-sky channels they should consider this. I payed 315 euros for the 7000s a few months ago and havent bought a harddrive so im raging now that i've seen this.

Interesting, the dreambox seems very popular, what are the main attractions of it?

    Thanks

Main advantage of dreambox is cheap piracy of pay TV. No advantage for FTA viewing.

"offical" legal viewing cards have a long history of getting zapped in 3rd party cams or "softcams" like in Skystar2 card running on Linux or Dreambox.

Its a box for someone who likes fiddling. Very much always at "beta" in SW stability.

Bloody hell that is a good price. Now how to justify buying yet another item I would like but do not need :D

Wow, that is a good price! Does it include VAT?

Don't think I'd fancy a Dreambox myself, though I'm sure there are many who would.

yep, i got the different model, and payed by cash on delivery which was actually cheaper than paying by credit card. The site is a bit mad to be honest, the price goes up and down like mad, like it could be 170 next week and 200 the week after( was like that when i bought the 7000s). But id expect it to stay around the 189 euro mark. I cant find a cheaper satellite site on the net.

Just typed it in to google.co.uk(english sat shops prices are a joke )

    £211.91 = 314 euros

not so good, was tinkering with it yesterday and found out that my LNB was busted, Just sent in old and waiting for a new one. Just got a mail from them saying they are sending me a Humax 0.4 db LNB. is it any good? will wait for the weekend to do some more damage. on the hindsight, i think i should get a satellite meter.

I have a DB 7000 as well, great fun on a wireless LAN (can stream TV, use it for MP3s, FTP/Telnet/Samba to it). Not for the beginners though... What images are you using (I'm RUDream).
