NTL - BBC 1 & 2 on Analogue & Digital - What's the difference?

I was watching BBC One the other day on ntl digital and someone had BBC One on the tv inside, which feeds from analogue. Before the programme started, the announcer came on and did the blah blah blah stuff before programmes. However, the announcer on the Digital version of BBC One was a female, whilst the BBC One announcer on Analogue was a male!!! I also noticed that (especially) during the evening time, BBC 2 on digital has completely different programming to BBC 2 on analogue. Why is this? Are they not both BBC NI services?

The BBC use the digital services to transmit more regional content, particularly BBC2.
The Radio Times gives listings for the digital and analogue variations.
If you use Digiguide then add the different BBC variations to your channels.

Yep exactly, there are usualy only some small subtle differences with BBC One (just like the programme announcers, ad's etc.).

BBC Two on analogue & digital are classed as two seperate channels, however the only real differences are that BBC Two NI Digital has more regional programming at night. Also when Sunday Grandstand is on, BBC Two Analogue might have regional sports on (eg. hurling/football or bowls) & the digital version would have whats on all the other regions.

Also that the analogue services are in 14:9, while the digital ones are in 16:9.

The digital version of BBC TWO Northern Ireland is called BBC TWO NI, and has more regional content in peak time.

I thought seperate continuity for BBC ONE Northern Ireland analogue and digital had been discontinued a long time ago.
