50 Cent in trouble

Springfield authorities sorting through the aftermath of a violent tirade by rapper 50 Cent plan to slap the Kevlar vest-wearing rapper with criminal charges and say a man shot after the melee had been at the ill-fated concert.

Ray Feyre, director of operations for Hampden District Attorney William Bennett, confirmed the 27-year-old Big Apple emcee, born Curtis Jackson, will be prosecuted for his role in the scuffle at the Hippodrome in Springfield. But, Feyre said, ``it hasn't been decided yet what charges (he will face).''

The violence erupted when a fan sprayed water on the chart-topping rapper during an unscheduled performance. Witnesses say the ex-drug dealer dove into the crowd of 1,400, injuring three women, two of whom were reportedly kicked in the head and face. Two people were arrested during the fracas, which took an hour for police to quell. 50 Cent and his posse slipped out a side door.

Minutes later, 27-year-old Mark Terry of Hartford, Conn., was shot in the leg near the venue. Springfield police Capt. William J. Noonan said Terry had been at the concert. Officials at 50 Cent's record label, Interscope, declined comment yesterday.

I suppose the real question is, can Interscope get him away with a small charge or will he face a full blown criminal charge with the possibility of being put in jail?
I mean, considering how big 50 is right now they'd be hard pushed to get him put in prison, or so it would seem to me.

``He removed his gold chain, handed it to someone on the stage next to him and jumped off the stage into the crowd,'' Barrasso said. The rapper's entourage, including bodyguards, also jumped off the stage.

    ahahah
Security guards had frisked the rapper and his entourage behind the stage; the rapper was wearing a Gucci holster, but the weapon it held fired only rubber pellets, Barrasso said.

    hahahaha
``He finished the song, believe it or not,'' Barrasso said. ``Then the whole entourage and him just rushed for the exit, got in their cars and left.''

according to MTV he was just hyping up the crowd though.
However, a source at WZMX told MTV News that the crowd was very enthusiastic when 50 took the stage, and that there was a lot of water being thrown back and forth but "not in a negative way." Just like a rock show, he explained, 50 jumped into the crowd, not to fight but to get the crowd hyped, then jumped back onstage and continued the song ("Wanksta"). According to the source, 50 was just beginning his next song when a fight occurred in the crowd. The show was then shut down.

despite all that, charging him in relation to someone getting shot near the venue is ridiculous. most likely overblown media crap and some free "thug-life" publicity for 50
