Hi, dunno if any of you have tried this but i was thinking of connecting my pc up to my 28" TV with a TV/out card so i can play mame games from the comfort of the couch. Anyone here done it and does it actually work ok ?

I have Mame running on the Xbox and its great playing all the classics from the couch.

I couldnt see the PC causing too many issues as most of the games for that time were low res.

A SVHS connection should do the trick

Make sure you lower your resolution could burn your tv playing a higher resolution than it can support (it wont disply it DUh but ti will get buggered quicker)

And its the PCs (de in display properties on ATI panel or Nvidia panel) res that you have to change not the in game settings.

MAME works great on my TV. Using geforce card with svideo TV-Out. Gives it a more authentic feel as the picture from a TV is less crisp than that from a monitor.

I was thinking this the other day, 1024*768 works on my tv. Would it be bad for the tv do you think?

might be safer to drop it down to 640*480.

wow me too. i always leave my display cloned on my tv and it runs at 1028x768. play MAME quite a bit on it too.

Should drop it unless your tv supports 1024 LCDs do ,but most tube tvs dont and it reduces their lfiespan consiiderably.

Better to run it in its orifinal res tho ,get that glare that arcade tvs give.

Metal Slug 5 on 32" WS tv with 2 players is class :)
