Ok - feet and shoes are starting to really stink. I wash them twice a day, change socks every day etc.

Any advice on good odour eaters, tips for keeping the old feet smelling nice would be appreciated.

    my tricks;

bring a pair of socks to work with you, and change them at lunch time, I know this might seem a bit mad, but it helps.

Never wear the same pair of shoes 2 days in a row. Yeah i know it means buying new shoes more often, but it helps alot.

If both fail, cut your feet off.

Try buying socks made of different materials to the ones you wear currently. Your feet might be reacting to one or more of the materials in the socks you wear.

Failing that cutting off your feet is an option.

I suppose you know that if you have a problem with your feet, you should only ever wear 100% cotton socks?

aaaah used to be the bane of my life. 6'5" tall and size 12's makes for nuclear feet so I have been through it all. I used to have to put my shoes outside when I took them off!

There are different odour eater's around and most of them just aren't up to the job.
The ones from Boots and Dr Scholl last about a week, two at most before I've made holes in them and they are practically wheezing from the ordeal.

So, I found these "work wear" odour eater's which are fantastic (washable too for for summer months) but they are getting increasingly difficult to find. Boots used to do them but now they seem to be only pushing their own brand.
I have since found a supply from Tesco but not even all of them stock those ones (Lucan does).
I can't remember the name off-hand but they have a cardboard box and are about 18 euro for two pairs. Expensive but worth it.
I usually have some spares for when it gets bad so I'll get the name tonight if I remember.

If your a teenager your feet probably won't stay that bad for too long.
Oh, and pure cotton socks only also, none of your cheapo Dunnes ones, get thee to M&S.
Stay out of your shoes as much as possible.
DON'T wear runners day-to-day, they are the worst for ventilation.
Take your insoles out every day to let them dry out.
Alternate between two pairs of shoes
Use TWO pairs of odour eaters in a pair of shoes (it can be a tight fit though!)

Pedemed powder from any pharmacy. If it works for my dad it'll work for you, trust me.

Somewhat like Sleipner here. over 6' with size 12s.

    What has worked for me:
Washing daily - sometimes you miss the obvious!
    Cotton socks
I don't wear the same shoes for more than a day or two
I don't wear trainers except for when I'm at the gym
I rarely wear boots during the summer.
All leather uppers - no manmade fabrics.

Leather and cotton breathe so much more.

On a hot day, I go home after work, take my shoes and socks off, wash my feet, and pad around barefoot alot.

As a teenager I used to have the real bad feet problem and atheltes foot that mycill/pedamet could just about control. These days I have good feet and I haven't had to resort to the powders for years.

Look after your feet mate, they're worth it :D

What you can do as well is to Put your shoes in a plastic bag.. put them in the freezer and let them be there for a couple of hours.

The bacterias that smell will then be killed for ever.

Try it and be amazed :)

Cold doesn't kill bacteria, it only freezes them. As soon as you put your feet back in they'll be reawakened.

Do you wear trainers? They're smelly feet heaven, so perhaps you should switch to shoes & take them off when you get home from work.

Heard Gerry Ryan talking about tea, vinegar & radishes all being remedys, but I don't know if you rub them in or drink/eat them ;) .

Foot O'Door, how old are you?

I have recently noticed that adolescent men stink like billy goats, regardless of how well they take care of themselves.. no joke!

If you are past that stage, combine the advice of people above, change footwear often, use breathable footware (ie leather shoes), use cotton or wool socks..etc...

I've heard that tea works. You have to soak your feet in a basin of water (not sure if it meant to be hot or cold) for a hour every night for 2 weeks. The problem is your feet will bestained from the tea!!!

Make sure the shoes you are wearing are leather lined aswell as leather upper. Try to avoid nylon linings. Try to buy moccassins as these have high fronts, therefore more room for air.

    Get reading:

Note their advice on socks. Not 100% cotton, better choice is 60/70% wool with the remainder man-made fibre. Works a treat, keeps your feet dry as a bone (if thats a problem)

Buy yourself some Scholl foot antiperspirant (available from Boots and Tesco) to help mask the smell. Also try their range of antibacterial shoe sprays for post-wearing odour prevention.

Its a pain in the ass, but you'll be able to reduce the whiff considerably with a little perseverance.
