It is my most eagerly awaited NON-sequel movie in a while now.
Looks good going to go see it the day it comes out in the morning and then if its good then again at night (good old UGC unlimited card)

Someone in the States has already seen it and posted their review at Aint it Cool News. He said the special effects were amazing and a lot of the best bits were NOT in the trailer. I think this movie sounds really good and can't wait to see it.

Was talking to a friend of mine who was treated to forty five minutes of the movie a month or so ago (along with about the same of "Alien vs. Predator"). He said that, what he saw, was very good (it was bits from both before, and after, the climate change). He's generally fairly difficult to please when it comes to the movies, so I take that with some heart that it may actually be a decent summer flick.

Empireonline.co.uk reviewed it today. It got 4 stars. Was rated higher than Troy.

I think they should have definitely left the words "Independence Day" out of the trailer...The original teaser (With the flashes of news reports and the static) was a fine example of just how a trailer should be done. The tone of this looks very different to the traditional disaster flick because there's no magic bullet to turn the weather back...

I was immediately impressed by a) The rather haunting music on the ad. b) The fantastic shots of the water coming into New York, which none of the big disaster flicks have ever shown up close, going for the stupendous "look at the buildings fall over" rather than "Holy crap, those people can't get away!", and c) "Save as many as you can." Quite a memorable line...

I really hope this doesn't suck, because I really want a decent disaster flick, and this looks like it could be that little bit above the traditional Summer explodathons...Its got the-guy-with-the-unspellable-surname from Donnie Darko, and I've decided from now on, if he or his sis are in a film its probably worth seeing. This effect being negated of course, by the presence of Julia Roberts.

Movies that are based around special effects are more often than not rubbish. There are many examples...I just can't think of one now.

And I believe the star of the film is one of those actors who looks vaguely familiar but whose name you never know.

I have a feeling it will be very bad.

I agree, but what struck me about this so far is the impression that the Storm is more or less over for most of the film...

From the second trailer, I think they should bill it as:

"The Core 2: This Time Its Good"
