    ‘lo folks,
I have a 1m sat dish (universal LNB) connected to a skystar2 DVB card in my PC going to waste, and I’m looking for suggestions as to which would be the best satellite to point it at for free TV channels. It’s currently pointed at astra 19.2 E and I’m using a program called dvbviewer to view the channels available here – but there are not many channels of any worth here (and a lot of them are encrypted), and the program only records in a proprietary format it would seem. So any suggestions would be welcome as to how to employ these bits of equipment.

PS: I already have sky digi

    Cheers

try arabsat at 26E, theres two channels, MBC and MBC2(channel 2), they just seem to show american tv shows and films plus channel two show english premiership matches. I think there very good FTA channels. Also there eritrea(?) tv, i heard they had the newest lord of the rings on one nite a few months ago. They seem to show US films very nite from what i can remember but i havent watched this satellite an a few months as my dish wasnt aligned properly. I got it with an 80cm dish so u should definitely get it. Try www.lyngsat.com for the freq etc

I have similar setup to yourself, with Astra 19E and Skystar 2 dvb card. I use it primarily to listen to the radio channels liek Radio Veronica while browsing the web.

I would suggest aligning dish on Astra 28E, where you'll get BBC1,2,3,4, and other watchable channels FTA. Plus the many radio channels in English which would probably suit me best.:)
