I was hoping that someone could help me please.

A friend has asked to install Aerials at his caravan this weekend.

He is in Greencastle, Moville, County Donegal.

What Irish and British channels can you get, what are the aerial groups and do you need a to use Masthead Amps?

    Thanks alot for any help!

A Group C/D(green) pointed at Limavady will get you BBC 1 & 2, UTV and CH4.

A Group A(red) pointed up the Foyle at Derry will pick up RTE1 & 2, TV3 and TG4 from Holywell Hill in Donegal. The Derry transmitter on nearby Sheriffs Mountain transmits BBC 1 & 2, UTV, CH4 & CH5.

As far as I know you cannot pick up Freeview in Greencastle.

We can get Freeview from Limavady in Quigley's Point, so I would expect that it's possible in Greencastle, even easier.

I did the Aerials at the weekend and used an a standard 18 Group CD for BBC and Group B for RTE as the Group A was poor. I was using a Group B Masthead and there was great pictures but the amp was leaking into the Group CD so I had to take off the Group B Masthead and will have to go back and put a filter on.

The Signals for the Group CD fro Limavady where good there and I will try a Freeview box in the next month or so, and I will report back.

Of course in Greencastle you will have the RTE Moville relay on Crockaulen mountain right behind you.

Needless to say it doesn't broadcast TV3 but will give pretty well perfect reception of RTE 1, Network 2 and TG4 on Group B.
