phone through PC

Is there a way for me to connect my phone to my pc, so that I can use a mic and headphones to talk and listen, as well as have any sound from the PC heard on the phone line too?? I can hook my phoneline up through my modem so that I can dial out through the PC, but I cannot hear or speak to the other line, and vice versa.…

perhaps there is some kind of connection that can turn a phone cable into an audio out lead, or something like that..??

I "think" it can be done with certain modems. You can certainly get software to act as a phone answering machine so ... maybe!
