i swear to god I'm going to find them and choke the worthless life out of the bastards if I ever find them.

sometimes 2 or 3 times in ad single a break on some channels, it's getting ridiculous.

they should be regulated by someone and restricted to a single commercial per break, and never the same one in any 1 hour period.

    getting ringtone rage right now.

    AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!

BUT YOU CAN GET THE LATEST RINGTONE!!!

    :)

They annoy the ****e out of me but they are probably making plenty of cash if they can keep on advertising.

Argh! I can hear the ads now! Bleeping in my ears, playing their annoying little ditties. Good Lord, do they make me see red. Awful, awful creations. It's like being forced to listen to the tossers who cycle through their mobile phone tones in a pub. The creators of these advertisments must surely sit at the right hand of Lucifer.

It's TV3 primarily that have them. In fact, I'm beginning to think that a lot of TV3's revenue is now coming from ringtone advertising/competitions/services. I mean, have a look at their teletext page and you'll see what I mean. TV3 is a pile of sh1te and their license should be revoked.

<sarcasm>I love them. Especially when the people dance to their ringtones.</sarcasm>

I can't believe muppets actually pay money for them.

Whats completely beyond me is how ringtones, wallpapers, logos etc... are still popular. Espically buying them, since you can just get them from the net anyway.

    Foolish plebs.

I have to admit that MTV have really sold themselves out with tha amount of ad's that they show in one break. It's like every second ad is for those poxy ringtones.

Mtv the only music channel in the galaxy with no music on it

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's going insane over this.

does anyone know how much it costs to have an ad on TV? I'm sure it depends on the time of day, but it might be worth getting a coalition together to save up enough to put an advert on to let all the muppets who must surely be ringing these people (or else they couldn't keep advertising) know a few websites where they can get them for free.

About €30K for a 30 second spot in prime time.

But how much a week do these guys make? I mean, to get your average ringtone, you send your order, recieve a billing message, and a seperate message containing the tone itself. If its polyphonic you have to use your WAP\GPRS connection.

Now with each message costing in the region of 75c - €1.25 plus operator charges, they can easily afford the cost of the ads. Especially these blasted subscription services, the ones that send a new tone every week...

TV3 must be half funded by these guys because, as was previously stated, their text service is practically chock full of tone and Java games advertising pages. These pages get updated more often than their "news" sections, I don't think their new movie or music pages were touched or looked at by any of the TV3 staff since their relaunch more than a month ago. Add to this the number of tone and chat line ads, and their abysmal 3text chat site, its only fair to say that the revenue generated by these comapnies bust be quite substancial indeed.

or you could contact the advertising department contacts below. Information from the medialive website.

Again I say, revoke TV3's license. They contribute nothing to television in Ireland.

At least they've stopped showing that "jokes on your mobile" advert with the English bloke pretending to be Irish, saying "you'll be crawwwling on dee floor with dee craic".

What's even more amazing is that even though the price you get charged is €1.25 or whatever, out of the 1.25 the logo/ringtone company will only see about half that. The rest goes to o2/voda/meteor as their take of the pie.

So, lets take an ad in the Star for example. Full page colour is 16,890. Some of the ringtone people I've seen with 1/4 page ads so the cost is approx 4k. They no doubt get discount on multiple ads so lets say it's a generous 2.5k for the ad. They have to sell over 4,000 ringtones to break even on the ad.

The mind really does boggle, but it's a definite cash cow and as it's all automated, there's no labour cost in the delivery of the ringtone. The cost will come when customers have to ring up if their tone wasn't delivered or whatever.

I know. They have to be the most annoying ads on the planet. That ringtone for eminem's (D12) new song "My Band"??? .... dear God make it stop. Can you imagine anything more annoying than having that on your phone?

    Whereabouts?

I cant stand those ads either, the jokes on your phone was the worst, and as for Mtv, all they seem to have is ads for "low cost loans" and car insurance.

Well.....almost anywhere. Personally I use My T610, it being the model of my phone. But pics are pics, polyphonic ringtones are midifiles etc...

And even if you don't have any type of phone - pc connection, you can just send an MMS from the vodaphone/o2 site with your phone and attach the file. Costs a little extra, but not as much as those companies are advertising.

The thing about it is it doesn't even sound like the My Band song (which is good in its own right!)More like a squashed trombone or something...
The one time I actually downloaded a song was back in the days when the 3310 was new and everyone was monophonic, didnt even sound like sandstorm....(so old)

I agree though that most of the tones can be got off the net and if you can't find any you should go to http://www.imserba.com , also you can get wallpaper, and programs for your Ngage (recommend Fexplorer)/series 60 nokia fone and its all free! for all sizes of screens...

I only ever got one tone and that was free (wap). Have it two years now and it's still as good as when i first got it.

I'm sorely tempted to go for the poem sent to your lovers phone...
    just text name to
My Sue you are so tasty,
    Your hotter than the sun...
    :dunno:
