Donal Dineens show Here Comes The Night -the best radio show that ever graced this land-was shunted off the airwaves just after Paddys so by the time the hangover cleared it was gone, banished to the Small Hours, literally. Grand if ur an insomnaic,a collage student whose playstation has broken or workin d nightshift (if they let u listen at to d radio @ work), but for d rest of who us have to get up the next day not quite such a relishing project havin d godawful Spin jockey Timmy up-his-own-rear letchin at d women callers in between the bland blare he throws up:(

However there is an alternative- An Taobh Tuathail (Gaelic for 'The Other Side' or 'The Flipside') on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, presented by Cathal O Cuaig, every night of the week, 10pm till midnight. It plays all kinds of music worldwide be it house, electro, hip-hop, drum'n'bass, techno, post-rock or nu-jazz or jazz so long as its quality & has as few english words as possible. I dunno what your man Cathal says bar the aritst name & song titles but u can b sure he ain't letchin.

    Oh & no ad breaks.
