Only Want The Basics....

    Hi,

The BBC1/2 , UTV, C4 terrestrial reception has been slowly getting worse over the last few years at my parents house in mid-roscommon, and it packed up before christmas, leaving only the national '4' (perfectly)

After chatting with them about it, they are not one bit interested in getting Chorus or a SKY package or any subscription based service, because all they want really is the BBCs.

So after reading much of this forum and other related sites, I came to the conclusion that if I installed a satellite dish (have an unused sky dish in the shed), and bought a second hand digibox on eBay, all would be hunky dory.

Is this all I need?? ---->

Ive bought a quad-lnb for mini-dish, a sony digibox similar to
this another similar to this one for the bedroom. (They want to be able to watch different channels....)

I intend buying some of that CT100 cable on tony's site to wire it up.

Will this give me all the free BBCs without any further costs? (Oh and how tricky is it to align the satellite dish??)

P.S. Thinking of buying a card so that ITV/C4 etc can be viewed -
    similar to this

    Thanks!

Yes that's basically all you'll need. You have it pretty well figured out.

Setting the dish may be the biggest problem. It is possible to wire up dish to digibox and use the signal meter in Settings > 4 > 6. Use neighbouring dishes as a rough guide to direction.

    cool thanks,

Ive neighbours right across the road, so can approx judge from that and i'll try best with the settings. if i cant get it, i might be able to find someone to borrow one of those gadgets to help with up at the dish!

    thanks.,
