Lightning Effect on AVI

    Well as the title says, I am shooting a scene at night and I need to add some realistic lightning. AFAIK the shot will be fairly long so I need something that will be easy to apply and set up. I have a fairly powerful machine so I don't think rendering will be a problem, if it can be done in something by pinnacle or Adobe it would be preferable.


    The reason I'm posting here is that I don't have the time to go rooting for a plugin. I'm shooting every day atm and working weekends.


    PC = 3 Ghz, Gig Ram, Pinnacle Pro Edition 5.5 with it's own dedicated video card * 2, 650 Gb hard drive space.

    Nevermind, in the last 40 minutes, I've mastered After Effects 6.0 I can do smoke,lightning and explosions.

    You are the man. How easy was it (even if there were three buttons marked smoke, lightning and explosions, 40 minutes is good going :D)

    Can you use After Effects as a plugin to Liquid Edition or do you need to fuse/export before you apply the effects?

    No, you xsend the clip to effects and then render it out in AE and re-import it to your project.

    I am trying to crop this guys head, and stick it on a picture of two gays. Any suggestions? The gays guys are really tanned, and I'm having trouble matching the skin tone.

    I've got the original 35mm's of Lump with George and Gunter if you want them... would save you the effort like :p

    Don't worry, it doesn't really affect my "life". It's only a small comment I made on a forum.
    It's just a bit arrogant to pretend you mastered Adobe After Effects 6.0 in 40mins.

    It's was actually a sarcastic comment to start with.

    I can do smoke,lightning and explosions

    I don't think that's mastering After effects.
