"*** 13 - 14 May 2004 The PRELUDE Challenge - Clustering Digital Innovation in EU Regions
    Ennis, Ireland
This conference presents the PRELUDE project and its nine Digital Regions, a major European effort to boost regional applied research and innovation through public-private partnerships. It will also showcase the Irish experience, particularly Ireland’s effort to modernise its economy and the public sector through a visionary strategy making use of the opportunities offered by the Information Society."

Ennis has the distinction of being the only town in Europe where VDSL WAS available but where it was then turned off, by Eircom of course. Memory Lane

As a metaphor for this country going backwards , technologically, we should see the irony of hosting a digital europe gig in the town.

Just looking back at deleted .ie domains, it is amazing to see all the e* domains deleted over the last year or so. As for the e-jits in what passes for the 'technology' press in Ireland, they should carry a lot of the blame for promoting the hype. Luckily many of these 'technology journalists' are no longer connected with technology. :)
