Laptop Battery Help

    Recently my laptop hd went dead.. got a new 30 gig hd installed via a friend and he cannot get the laptop battery going ...
    its xp pro

    Its a packard bell easy one silver !! old enough model
    Xp says batterys at 100% and running perfectly but everytime i plug it out from the mains it does not run from the battery at all..

    tried the power options every setting.. And cannot get it to work Tried google and didnt turn up anything !!

    ANyone help me out here :) Any ideas at all would be very helpfull

    theres very lil that can be wrong tbh .

    your batt is dead or the connectors insid your laptop to the bat are broken . not much can be done . get a new one and see

    thats not what i wanted to hear lol..

    any way of testing it ..
    Also if the connectors were damaged why would it say its at 100%
