Making TG4's picture darker...

I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 350 and have found that when capturing TV3 and especially TG4, the picture appears overexposed with bright areas washed out.
This appears to be a problem inherent in the its tuner being over sensitive and not with its drivers or colour settings (I've done a lot of fiddling with no success).
Some examples of what I'm talking about can be seen here (they're about 150KB each).

So to overcome this problem it would be necessary to darken the picture before it gets to the capture card. Is there any sort of video processing device that will allow me to do this?

An aerial attenuator might possibly solve your problem (If its case of the RF input leel being so high that the tuner on the card is being overloaded) altough it sounds to me like its a flaw in the card (tuner output to rest of card being too high or AGC not working properly)

I have a same problem with my Hauppauge TV Card (Primio FM). I have tried the same things with drivers and colour settings but to no avail.

I just have to live with it.

    :(
