Hi, I’m in a band based in Ireland. We are looking for a new guitarist. We are based in the Kildare/Dublin region. The criteria for joining would be by most people’s standards quite stringent. Basically unless you are into similar music, and of a similar mind frame, then I won’t waste your time. We recently evicted a member after over a year of trying to bring him up to our relatively high standards, so that is why we have set such rigid criteria.

Our musical influences would include; The Manic Street Preachers, The Smiths, The Smashing pumpkins, Joy Division, Stiff Little Fingers, The Clash etc. This list seems to slightly misrepresent what we aim to do; our general intention has not been executed before. Mixing beautiful melodic depth of sound (guitar/piano/vocals) mixed with philosophical/sociological/political/sexual/personal lyrics, mixed with groundbreaking mixes of art, visual spectacle, and most of all a good old-fashioned nihilistic outlook on life. Didn’t expect me to be that specific, did you? ;)

I suppose not all of the above criteria are crucial J but we would all have to get along well with you, and have the same general intentions as to what to do in/with the band…

We want to be something… something else.
