PS2 NTSC DVD Playback Problem

Anyone know how to get a PS2 to playback NTSC DVD's? Mine only seems to play them back in black & white!? I read on-line that you can use a particular type of cable to rectify the problem, but another website had it that it's entirely down to whether your TV is NTSC compatible or not?

Anyone out there know more about this?

It could be either your TV or your cable, or both. First thing to check is if your TV is NTSC compatible or not. If you're not sure, post the model number and I'll try to find out for you.

If your TV is not NTSC compatible, then running the playstation in composite or s-video will result in a black and white picture. Sometimes, depending on the TV in question, using the RGB output connected to an RGB scart input (if available) on your TV can bypass this problem. You'll just have to try it.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about the video outputs on a PS2, maybe somebody else can help you with that bit.

Thanks for that Robbie! I'll have a look at the TV.
