Sadly its falling a bit too soon, from 20.52 pm - 22.08 pm.
Proberly too light to be very eye catching. If anyone has a decent digi camera and gets lucky please post the pix.

    Mike.

We had about a hundred people come by for the IAS/SDAS Dublin Sidewalk Astronomers gathering on Sandymount Strand. Unfortunately it was completely clouded out.

But on the bright side we did give out some copies of Arcturus (free to download anyway) to an enthusiastic crowd. Several people stuck around for an hour or so on on the off chance of the clouds parting. And the kids also got to look at distant objects (ships, lighthouses etc) though different scopes and binoculars and opefully now understand why some scopes had the images upside down etc. There was also a 20" scope there but it didnt make it out of the car with the prosect of rain.

Nice to see such a good turnout from IAS and SDAS members on a cloudy night!

    Cheers,
