    I.e. Emma Ledden, Liz Bonnin

I mean Parkinson is only getting £1.5 mill for going over to ITV for 2 years and Gerry Ryan gets €3mill for 5years????

And then there is Mary Kingston who gets €51,000 per year.

Now Emma and Liz what were ye thinking? Milk RTE.:D

How much is Ian Dempsey on?

The er talent pool is much better but so are the oppotunites if you get lucky or are talented. Money is important how many ppl are on the Big Money here compared to the UK where the loot is spead around more?

Emma Ledden and Liz Bonnin are in a different league to Gerry Ryan, in fairness. Liz Bonnin might get the chance to work on one, maybe two 13-episode series as a part-presenter in a good year. In the UK she could easily hope to double that, and get more exposure. Look at Amanda Byram - TV3 to Channel 4 to US TV in 3-4 years. Graham Norton too (whose opportunities at home were substantially less than even Liz or Emma). Now that is scaleability they could never achieve at home.

It comes down to money, thats it. There is a chance they will get more work in the UK and it could lead to better things. Irish TV is just a launch pad for some of the presenters.

Its all about fame and money, you go from Ireland to the UK then your next step is the USA... where the big bucks are. The key is being noticed then get yourself a good agent, sure luck at Colin Farrell one minute your on a crappy english tv show next your making movies in hollywood with Joel Shumacker (spelling???) and Stephen Spielberg with big stars like Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis etc etc!

Reading the interview with Gráinne Seoige in the new Sky TV Guide, she talks about being part of start-up operations, TG4, then TV3 and now Sky News Ireland.
She says she must be mad always picking unproven enterprises, but the money she's getting from Sky surely more than compensates. ;)

She is a good example of someone staying in Ireland.

Her replacement on News at 5.30 is a good example of someone coming back to Ireland from Britian.

and Emma Ledden is a good example of someone who isn't put down to easely.

But surely in the case of Emma, she would have been better staying with RTE when Ray Darcy left the den. MTV to Spin to Q102.

He was earning a good amount of money for that show back in 1998.

And I dont think Ms. Amanda Byram made it in Britian, she ****ed off to the states for defo better exposer and money.

Is she just the worst present on TV at the moment. :(

    Presistance. Well ****ing done.
