Does anyone have first hand experience with any of these type of machines, or any recommendations about them?

I need a machine that will only require one PCI card and thought about one of these for just something different.

    EPoX eX5-300S
    Abit DiGiDice
    MSI MEGA 651
    Shuttle SB65G2

Komplett have those which look interesting; http://www.komplett.ie/k/kl.asp?bn=10150 .

Just thought id ask here first , as usual ;)

    Are there issues with heat?
Are the motherboards known to have compatibility issues , etc..

Mostly as a media center; recording & editing video etc.

I have got most of the components of one - but havent put it together yet!)

They are supposedly even easier to build than 'Normal' PC's. Heat shouldnt be a big problem unless you want to run a hot gfx card like a 9800XT, or put in 2/3 HD's, or overclock it. There is even a modding/cooling 'scene' for SFF's.

Forums.sudhian.com is a good site for discussion and issues with varius types of SFF pc.

Biostar is another popular make of SFF pc's.

one thing to be aware of with shuttles is that they can have problems with 9800 AIW cards,
you need to have the new silentX 250 watt PSU to deal with them.
some shuttles come as standard with this PSU.

    [again i recommend sudhian]
