I was looking for rom manager software as I have 4500 MAME roms and seeing as I'm nearing the final stages of building my cabinet, it's time to finalise the games. I've taken the advice of friends and of course you guys here on what games to put on, but seeing as there's still hundreds left, sure why not put on some more!

I used mame32 to sort them by manufacturer (as I found that I liked quite a lot of games from data east, etc) and copied them over one by one this way... then I came across Romcenter

Any of you guys used this software? Once I got the correct dat file (mame .81 whereas I use .79) and scanned the games, I came across something a little strange, it picked up some of my working roms as non-working yet fixable. I ran their fix program on all these and have yet to try them again but thought it a bit strange none the less...

it was handy for removing non-working roms and clone games, and I'd say I'll use it to keep trimming

anyone got any tips on this software?

    cheers

Don't bother with romcenter, it can be buggy at times and more often than not cause more problems than it solves. Stick with clrmame pro, its a little harder to get to grips with, but it'll sort out your mame set perfectly : http://www.clrmame.com/
