    Word up.

I'm thinking of getting NTL's basic digital package (EUR 30 a month, no sky movies etc.)

Does anyone else have this? Do you think it is worth it?

I want it mostly for the music channels, but are any of the other channels any good?

    Cheers.

I have it and am in Dublin. If it for the music channels then yeah get it. The kids channels are pretty good. News and documentaries are also pretty good.

However I am not to impressed with the entertainment channels, re-runs of old episodes of Bergerac just don't do it for me. For entertainment I watch E4 and Sky which I had anyway with a basic connection.

The main reason I got it was because I had to if I wanted Sports and Movies which are what I watch the most on it anyway.

NTL, without a shadow of a doubt, is the worst run company in the world.

Steer WAAAAAY clear of them. Don't even talk to them, because they will even manage to mess that up.

No other company has this many people irate and frustrated.

I personally, speaking from experience, HATE them with a passion. I cannot emphasise that enough.

    Heres my story:

NTL are/were doing a "free digital 'til September" offer. Just pay install, sign for a month and pay by dd.

    It is what it's.

It's alright I suppose. Personally I'd go for Sky just for the movie channels.

The music chans are mostly shit, I only watch mtv2 and the amp usually, the rest are either pop, 70's/80's or terrible rock (Kerrang/Scuzz). There's way too many bad channels like the shopping channel, the travel shop and health channels too.

There are some good cartoon channels too, Toonami and Boomerang are the best, if you're into that.

Over all it's okay though, there's usually something watchable on.

It depends on what you want. I have the basic channels and i like them, am thinking of getting a second box for the bedroom. €13 per month is reasonable. They have loads of discovery type channels, and as for the movies if you want to watch repeats go to xtravision dont pay sky or ntl
