Good call, it's the best of the year so far, but still not a particularly stunning album. Hasn't been a great year for albums that have caught my ear, but Maroon 5 is getting a lot of time on my CD player at the moment.

    Gomez - Split the Difference

Thought this was rubbish compared to their earlier stuff - they have really gone downhill lately.

I got an advance copy - I was a big fan i their early years and maybe now I am expecting too much. Their sound has changed a bit over the years.
Liquid Skin and Bring it On are by far my favourites.

ah - in the vein of unnecessary indulgence:

Snowpatrol - Final Straw. Just a blaze of feel good power pop... but it works.
Magnetic Fields - I. Any man that sings about his boyfriend is probably gay - but the songs are just rather fantastic.
The New Pornographers - Electric Version. Strictly 2003,. but we love it this year too.
Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism. Just nice...

    And that's my buckles worth.

runners up would be for me:

    Snow Patrol - Final Straw
    Jet - Get Born
    Scissor Sisters

an honourable mention goes to Maroon 5 - Songs about Jane

but the best one so far has to be:

Grahan Coxon - Happiness In Magazines

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,618 ✭✭✭Civilian_Target

    Get Born was 2003.

Listened to the Stills - Logic Will Break Your Heart, and was not impressed.
