Upside Down Card (BBC1-101)

I can no longer get BBC1 London on 101 when I turn my card upside down and reset box. Has this happened to anybody else?

This happened after the latest software upgrade, the only way now seems to be to borrow a UK card and offer it to the box for a few minutes to enable it to save the default EPG, however if you reinsert an Irish card it will remember it again, so this is only useful if it is a second box or a box with no Irish sub at all.

This is awful, I was going to watch interactive big brother this year. I have a Sky+, which has not got the update yet, when I press the red button on E4 (after putting card upside down) it says loading, but then suddenly it says technical fault with channel, why is this?

You wouldn't have been able to watch the interactive big brother by doing that anyway.
I tried it last year.
Putting inyour UK card and tuning the e4 channel scrambled and then quickly taking out the uk card and replacing with the irish card will give you the english e4 complete with english adds.
But if you do anything like change a channel or press red the box checks the card and realises its Irish and you are back to square one.

I have a UK sub now anyway \o/ so I'll be able to watch BB interactive for certain this year, whens it starting??

You never know they might provide it on Irish cards this year... aswell....would be unusual though if they bothered/cared enough about us.

They must do - according to Media Bullet, Sky News Ireland starts on 10/5/04.

20/04/04 Sky News Ireland bulletins launch in May.

From Monday 10th May 2004, Sky News Ireland will broadcast twice-nightly bulletins at 7pm and 10pm. The half-hour bulletins, anchored by Gráinne Seoige, will cover news, sport and weather across the country.

At weekends a 'Review of the Week' will be shown at 7pm and 10pm.

Sky News Ireland has assembled a team of high-profile journalists to deliver the bulletins, including correspondents Ray Kennedy and Brian Daly, as well as West of Ireland bureau chief Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile and video-journalists Jerome Hughes and Jonathan Healy. The team will work closely with Sky News' bureau in Northern Ireland, staffed by David Blevins and Gary Honeyford.

Sky News Ireland's first bulletin will be at 7pm on Monday 10th May. Over two-thirds of all households in Ireland will receive the new Sky News service via cable/MMDS or satellite. Viewers will also be able to see a continuous loop of the programme from 7.30pm (updated at 10.30pm) throughout the night via Sky News Active by pressing the red button on the Sky Digi remote control.

I had the same problem - Re-boot with no card and UK EPG returns. Hope this helps.

SKY DON'T CARE ABOUT US IRISH! But, with the now fully interactive Sky News Ireland, could this be a new beginning?

BTW, how do you have a UK sub? Did you buy the card or do you have a UK subscription?
