Region 3 DVD's why so cheap? compared to region 1 and 2?

    As per cdwow.ie anyway?

Any ideas? are they crap quality or non-english?

Also would you recommend waiting for region 1 or 2 to come out?

I find region 4 are great value and are always perfect on MRP. Region 1 can be hit & miss. Look at sticky for websites - just found another atlanticdvd.com as well as empiredvd.com.au and dvdcrave.com . Generally these sites are cheaper than cd-wow.com.hk

Region 3 DVD's why so cheap?

You should be asking yourself the question why are Region 2 so expensive ?
Region 3 covers Hong Kong,Phillipines, and other Asian countries.
Obviously the inhabitants of these countries are of a much lower standard of living than Europe and could not afford the high prices of Europe .
Piracy is rampant in these countries too with dvd silvers on sale for approx 2 US dollars with a case .
To combat this the official prices are low, but not low enough .
With the serious drop in DVD-disc and DVD-player manufacturing costs over the past few years, it has come to the stage where both DVD-discs and players are cheaper to manufacture than its VHS counterparts. However, despite the cheaper replication costs for DVDs, most blockbuster hits still cost up to twice the price on DVD compared with VHS. In fact, it only costs about £0.42 to manufacture a DVD. Unlike VHS, DVDs support multiple languages so manufacturers can save even more by replicating the same DVD containing multiple soundtracks for multiple countries.
Despite what the movie industry and retailers say, a director from a DVD replication plant said that despite all these extra features and initial development costs with DVDs, it still works out marginally cheaper than VHS once replication costs are taken into account. The leading industry analyst Jessica Reif-Cohen found that the studios make a 66% profit margin on DVDs compared with only 45% with VHS tapes once everything is taken into account.

Summing up ,DVD is a rip off.

Region 3 DVD's are in English and are exactly the same quality as Region 2/3 .
    I bought 4 last week.
I bought 'Tears of the Sun' for 7 euro .
XTravision are renting this for 5 euro.
Good film and exactly the same extras.
