Some of you may have seen it.
It is rough,violent and above all REAL!

But this is what I train for, so no **** will do this to me or mine!If we don't accept that this can happen and train to beat it what good is our "martial stance" to naked aggression?
This is not the worst I've seen or can post, real life is about survival I'm afraid!
Any feedback is fine, here or through my e-mail,it's in my profile.I am not trying to hide or stir **** up for the laugh! I am here to learn and help others to learn.If you don't like my attitude,tough.I will not pander to stuff which will get people hurt or killed.I want to promote real self defense to any one willing to listen.If this does not suit the mods of this forum I'm sorry, but you are doing a disservice to the people who do want to learn!Being assaulted and defending from it is an ugly business.I make no bones about it! But the dirty stuff is what "they" know and we desperately need to know if we are to remain safe in our homes and on our streets.
Sorry for the rant but if it helps one person I will be happy!

It's security camera footage of a russian mugger stomping a girl so he can rob her.
He had killed a victim prior to this and ended up getting the death penalty.This is a newspaper account of the case http://www.jaggle.nl/vertaald.htm.
It is a vicious attack with no interview stage and no warning.I feel it's good to realise that this can happen and these people are out there!

It's shocking to see how casually, almost calmly the guy stomps away at the girl. Obviously has no regard for her life. I'm glad that walking scum got the death penalty.

because i have no desire to watch a defenceless woman get beaten up.
that was directed at anyone that actually wants to download this ****, rather than someone that couldn't figure out how to download it.

tman, if you prefer not to ,don't watch it, your choice.I see no reason not to be aware of how a real attack can go down so I can alter my own reactions and practices to allow for this kind of thing.Bear in mind that most fights/muggings will involve young men.
There is no point in a self defense forum denying that this is what happens.The katas I learnt would be no use in this situation, but practical unarmed combat,reality based self defense and awareness might just help,once we know what we are up against!The best thing to do is prepare for a worst case scenario like this so anything less is easier to deal with.Dunno if you lads have ever heard of "Todd", a hypothetical opponent,Basically he is your worst nightmare , strong,trained,willing to kill you and no fear of jail.You train to beat "Todd" so any lesser opponent can be put away with less fuss.There is always someone,younger,faster stronger and sneakier, so I gotta be ready!

My first style, like many others was Shotokan Karate.I lasted about two weeks.
Since then I've gotten my Dan grade in ITF TKD,I've taken some boxing to bring up my hand techniques,lost interest in flashy kicking .
I now train in Hapkido,prefer the joint locking and throwing found there.The instructor is also a BJJ player under Royce Gracie I believe? Haven't done any of that yet but am looking forward to it.I am looking to learn the things I need to train myself in RBSD/PUC and will learn components of a few styles to get there.Have done bits with Kaze Arashi Ryu,mainly the Aiki Ju Jitsu,Aikido for some joint locks, and just free sparring with as little rules as possible to ensure safety."Alive" training makes sense.
I also do like the "Art" part of this stuff as it's a great hobby in its own right.However, if I'm training Martial Arts I want to be able to fight,not just make pretty shapes!From what I've seen too many of these flash techniques rely on a compliant "Uke" to make them work.That'd be why I was going to take up Judo before I found the Hapkido closer to home.Making a throw on an opponnent who is actively resisting and trying to throw you is way harder, as I'm sure you know with your background.MMA looks like good fun and a hell of a workout, as well as "pressure testing" your techniques.
Finally, I like to study the work of people like Gavin De Becker,Geoff Thompson,Carl Cestari,Hock Hocheim,Kelly McCann/Jim Grover,Peyton Quinn,Marc McYoung and Applegate,Fairbairn,Biddle and O'Neill. There is little new under the sun and these folks are into what really works for keeping yourself safe, and not dead preferably

OK, I have found another site hosting this video.
Again, this is a graphic CC TV footage of an assault by a 30 odd year old addict on a 15 year old russian girl.She lived but other victims of his did not.This video is why he got the death penalty.

Again,I post this to show why we have to be aware and ready for random assholes like this,not trying to offend or troll for outrage.Until I realised what a real fight was I trained away happy that I could handle whatever came up.I am now older and I hope more realistic and my main hope is that I never have to find out for sure if I could handle any of this stuff.My second hope is to be pleasantly surprised that I can!
