    hey guys
im by no means a dunse when it comes to computers but i finally got my fire wire card to work and hence installed my ipod soon after.During this ardues battle my ipod some how got set to disk mode .I have tried restarting it no avail i get an error message with a pic of a folder.Since the manuals and apple.coms only soloution to the problem is restarting it im at a bit off a dead end.I think it may have something to to with the folder directories but im not sure as am still a begginer in ipod terms.Im running it with ephpod and macopener on windows me.
any help or suggestions you tech experts could provide would be great since im reeally on the end of my teather with this!
    Thanks

As far as I knew you can have it disk mode and still user it normally. At least I do. To disable Disk Mode using iTunes, just go to the iPod settings and uncheck Enable Disk Use. Not sure how you'd do it with the apps you mention.

Is it affecting updating/listyening to music? Maybe I'm misreading your query :)

I can upload music fine but when i eject it its stuck on a screen that says:disk mode .and then underneath :ok to eject. Therefore i cant play music.Or use any of the normal functions.

Have you tried using iTunes? Just to see if it makes any difference. I'm guessing you posted to ipodlounge.com too with no luck?

I've never seen the iPod get stuck like that, and I have disk mode enabled all the time. Did you "Safely Remove"/Disconnect the iPod? I know these are obvious questions, but best to start with the basics. If these get you nowhere, is it still under warrenty? :)

Ehh, I used MM for a while when I first got the iPod, but quickly switched to iTunes when it was available for Windoze. A much cleaner interface IMO.

You might want to keep an eye on this on ipodlounge as it is remarkably like your issue. I wonder is this an issue with ME?
