Accessing video on Sky+ box via SDI

It's no use for archiving data to PC as it is after the MPEG2 decoding.

Only likely to give a very marginal picture quality improvement over RGB / S-video

Only an improvement on a plasma, LCD or projector that uses SDI / DVI etc natively with no internal analog conversion. Marginal on HDTV displays. Best on "native" DVD PAL resolution 720 x 576 pixel LCD /PLASMA/Projector.

ALL CRT based displays use internal analog RGB, so with them there is no advantage whatsoever.

No value on lower than 704 x 576 pixel MPEG2 channels. Satellite TV can use many resolutions much lower than DVD.

    Conclusion:
A waste of money and effort with a risk of wrecking your Sky box.

No value for any domestic TV viewing.
