this is a question to the majority of artists.....budding artists that have or at the moment using a musical instruments?..

do you think your music has boosted your art skills?.....art is an emotional thing....ya know??...you'll fine alot of male artists the more sensitive of the males types..lol

just that my mum just mentioned it to me the other day that she really thinks that my 9 years of playing the violin has mentally boosted my nack for art....

it was made a fact a while ago that classical music...over a long period of time is meant to boost your intelligence somehow.....but anyway.......

does anyone else in this position feel the same...yes/no?

    Perhaps.....

I used to play Piano and was fairly ok at it.
Then I went to art classes and the guy said I was good, and I myself was satisfied with my work.

Then I gave piano up and lost all enthusiasm for the art aswell. So maybe one affects the other...

Music destroyed what art skills I had, used to draw all the time, all day, all night. I haven't drawn anything properly in about 4 years.

I think the link is just a general one regarding ones innate character and temperament. I've done most
at some time or other painting/drawing/photography and these days music. I'll proberly get bored of that some day....! I certainly hav'nt done two types of art at the same time (can't multitask!) so dunno if might influence the other.

As for clasical music boosting IQ thats just tosh put about by snobs looking to shift CDs! ;)
