ntl box and mmds in kilkenny?.

hello:guys does anyone know if a ntl box connected to a mmds aerial in the kilkenny area will receive the ntl service?.because i will be moving to kilkenny very soon and was wondering would my ntl box be worth bringing to kilkenny.will it get me the ntl mmds service or would it receive any of the other mmds services i would appreciate any feed back and info you can give thanks.

hi mossy yes i know the have chorus in kilkenny,but i was wondering if i bring my pace ntl 4010 digital box to kilkenny will it give me the ntl service using the mmds aerial with my pace 4010 box.any help mossy would be appreciated thanks

I have moved to KK for a short while as well ...

It is CRAP chorus all the way here. Sadly there is no ntl down here. As someone who has been happy with ntl digital for years I cannot believe the piss poor "digital" quality of chorus in KK.

Ntl is not available outside dublin galway or waterford. The signal is not strong enough (they can hardly provide a decent signal here in dublin, let alone kk!!!) You could get chorus for the basic service (Basic, really meaning "basic"!!!) and then buy a second sky box or something to get the 200+ free to air channels from satellite. If you unsubscribe from ntl digital because you're moving to kilkenny, in all likelyhood, ntl will want the digibox back.

what is a network id and how do they use it to lock the boxes?

The Network ID can be changed on the 4001 and the 4010 series boxes only, but it intales removing the cover and doing a reset
